IPTV Refund Policy: What to Check Before You Pay
An IPTV refund policy should tell you five things before you pay: how many days you have, when that window starts, what conditions apply, how to ask and how long the money takes to come back. In the UK, a service bought online also comes with a statutory right to cancel within 14 days, but if you ask for the service to start straight away you may pay for the days used. IG IPTV's published policy adds a 7-day money-back guarantee with conditions. Read the conditions, not only the headline.

This page is general information, not legal advice. Where it describes the law, it links to the text on legislation.gov.uk and to Citizens Advice, and where it describes IG IPTV's own terms, it sticks to what the published policy says.
What a fair IPTV refund policy says
A fair IPTV refund policy states, in writing and before you pay, the length of the refund window, the moment it starts, the conditions you must meet, how to ask, and how long the money takes to reach you. If any of the five is missing, ask the provider before you buy.
| The policy should state | Why it matters | Wording to question |
|---|---|---|
| Window length | Tells you the deadline for asking | "Money-back" with no number of days |
| When the window starts | Purchase date and activation date can differ | No start point given at all |
| Conditions | Some guarantees cover only service faults, not a change of mind | Conditions found only in a separate page you were never shown |
| How to ask | A written request leaves a record | "Contact us" with no channel or details to include |
| Time to refund | Lets you know when to chase | No timescale, or refunds as account credit only |
A sixth point sits behind all five: who you are dealing with. A refund policy is only as useful as the business behind it, so look for a trading name and an address on the legal pages. IG IPTV is operated by IGIPTV, 4351 Dallas Fort Worth Turnpike, Ste 200, Dallas, TX 75211, USA.
Your legal right to cancel in the UK
In the UK, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel a service contract made online within 14 days, without giving a reason. The period ends 14 days after the day the contract is entered into. If you asked for the service to start during those 14 days and then cancel, you may have to pay for what was supplied up to that point.
The rules sit in Part 3 of the regulations. In order:
- Regulation 29 gives the right to cancel a distance contract at any time in the cancellation period without giving a reason.
- Regulation 30 says that for a service contract, or for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the period ends 14 days after the day the contract is entered into.
- Regulation 36 covers services started early. If you expressly asked for the service to begin during the cancellation period and then cancel, you pay an amount in proportion to what has been supplied, compared with the full coverage of the contract. You lose the right to cancel only once the service has been fully performed, after you acknowledged that you would.
- Regulation 37 covers digital content. Here the right to cancel can be lost as soon as supply begins, if you gave express consent and acknowledged that you would lose it.
- Regulation 34 says a refund after cancellation must be made without undue delay, and for a service no later than 14 days after the trader is told of your decision, using the same means of payment, with no fee.
Whether a streaming subscription counts as a service or as digital content can change the answer, and the regulations do not name IPTV. IG IPTV's own Terms describe the service rule: a 14-day cooling-off period, with a proportionate charge if the service began during it at your request.
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 adds rights that do not depend on any cooling-off period. Section 49 requires a service to be performed with reasonable care and skill. If it is not, section 54 gives you the right to ask for repeat performance or a price reduction, and section 57 stops a contract term from excluding that liability. For help applying any of this to your own case, Citizens Advice's consumer pages are the place to start.
IG IPTV's refund terms, in full
IG IPTV's published refund policy offers a 7-day money-back guarantee on paid plans, alongside the 14-day statutory cooling-off right for UK residents. The guarantee comes with conditions, the main one being that the refund is for a service problem. The table sets out each section of the UK refund policy as published.
| Section of the policy | What it says |
|---|---|
| 1. 7-day money-back guarantee | Applies to all IG IPTV subscriptions, within the first 7 days of the subscription start date |
| 2. 14-day cooling-off right | UK residents may cancel within 14 days of purchase under the 2013 Regulations by emailing Contact@igiptv.tv with a clear statement; a proportionate amount may be deducted if the service began during that period at your request |
| 3. Conditions | Request within 7 days; a legitimate service issue, such as significant buffering, channels not working or no access; you contacted support and gave a reasonable chance to fix it; account not suspended for a Terms breach; no abuse of the free trial or the policy |
| 4. How to ask | WhatsApp or email; give your registered email address and order reference; describe the issue; allow support up to 24 hours to try to resolve it first |
| 5. Processing time | Approved refunds processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method; your bank may take longer to credit it |
| 6. Exclusions | After the 7 days (except the statutory cooling-off right); where the service performed as described with no technical fault; suspended accounts; unused parts of a plan after the 7 days |
| 7. Statutory rights | Nothing in the policy affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 |
In plain terms, the guarantee as published is a 7-day money-back guarantee for service problems, and the conditions in section 3 decide whether a request qualifies. If you are unsure how they apply to you, ask support in writing before you pay and keep the reply.
The Terms of Service repeat the 14-day cooling-off right and the proportionate charge in section 6, and add that once the cooling-off period has passed, refunds are at IG IPTV's discretion except where the law requires one. Section 10 of the Terms restates the Consumer Rights Act remedies.
Free trial or money-back guarantee?
A free trial is the better first step, because you test the service before any money changes hands; a money-back guarantee is the safety net for problems that only show up after you have paid. Used together, they cover most of the risk.
IG IPTV offers a 24-hour free trial with no card needed. Use it on the device and the channels you will actually watch, at the times you usually watch; our guide to getting the most from an IPTV free trial has a checklist. If the trial goes well, the shortest commitment is a monthly plan, and UK plans start from £15 a month, as set out on the UK pricing page. Starting monthly keeps the amount at stake small, as our guide to cheap monthly IPTV plans explains, and plans are prepaid for a fixed period with no contract.
The guarantee then covers the first 7 days of a paid plan if a genuine service problem appears that support cannot fix. Neither the trial nor the guarantee replaces your statutory rights.
How to ask for a refund
To ask IG IPTV for a refund, contact support on WhatsApp or by email, give your registered email address and order reference, describe the problem, and allow up to 24 hours for support to try to fix it, as section 4 of the policy sets out. 24/7 WhatsApp support is the quickest channel; email gives you a dated written record.
Citizens Advice suggests writing to the trader, following their complaints procedure, and keeping a copy of everything you send. In practice that means:
- Write it down. Say what is wrong, since when, and on which device, in one message.
- Quote the policy section you are relying on: the 7-day guarantee, or the 14-day cooling-off right.
- Keep records: your order reference, the payment confirmation, dates of each message, and any replies.
- Note the deadline. The guarantee runs from the subscription start date; the statutory period runs from the day of purchase.
If a trader cannot be reached or will not help, Citizens Advice explains when you can ask your card provider for a chargeback, or use Section 75 for credit card purchases costing more than £100 and no more than £30,000. No single IG IPTV UK plan costs more than £100, so chargeback is the relevant route.
Refund red flags
Walk away from an IPTV provider whose refund policy is vague, hard to find, or written to take away rights the law gives you. The warning signs are the same across the market.
- "Money-back guarantee" with no days, start date or conditions. A headline is not a policy.
- No legal pages at all, or no business name and address anywhere on the site.
- A term saying you give up your statutory rights. Under section 57 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a term cannot exclude a trader's liability for performing a service with reasonable care and skill.
- Refunds only as account credit, or a fee for refunding. For a cancellation under the 2013 Regulations, regulation 34 requires the same means of payment and no fee.
- Pressure to pay before you have read the terms, such as countdown timers or "today only" prices.
- Look-alike websites. igiptv.tv is the only IG IPTV website; a site with a similar name is not connected to it.
